This is a charming hotel with an unsurpassable location and excellent atmosphere. Reception staff very helpful and competent, service people with a nice smile, room (301) large and clean, slightly old-fashioned which in fact adds to the charm, breakfast superb and out-doors, bath room good size, shower facilities might be updated but perfectly adequate. Hotel parking lot within 6 minutes to walk . The only drawback no lift to floors but staff offered help promptly. Would return there any time with pleasure. Good beach at St Andrews island, take boat from in front of hotel.
“Great value 3* hotel in a wonderful location”
travels_regularly, London, UK, Aug 31, 2009
The Hotel Adriatic is a well-located establishment, right in the heart of Rovinj and just a stone's throw from the UNESCO-listed old town. Step outside the door and you'll find yourself facing the harbour (where most of the boat-based day-trips leave from). You'll also quickly realise that you're surrounded by a good selection of restaurants, bars and ice-cream parlours.
With the main shopping street just a two-minute walk away and Rovinj's (albeit rocky) beaches a 15-minute stroll along the waterfront, it is the location that makes the Hotel Adriatic really special. That said, the small band of staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful (especially on reception) and the food - both at breakfast and dinner - is excellent.
One word of warning... the hotel is only a 3*, so guests shouldn't expect out-and-out luxury. The bedrooms will appear slightly small by US/Canadian standards (although perfectly reasonable by European standards), and there isn't a lift to carry guests and heavy luggage up the three flights of stairs. However, I believe this is reflected in the price, which is very reasonable (even in high season) considering the hotel's great location.
“Fab location nice hotel fab honeymoon”
mermaidSheffield, Sheffield, Jul 17, 2009
We travelled to Croatia last year for our honey moon and I forgot to write a review.
Hotel was clean and tidy staff were really frendliy and the location was fantastic. Loved rovinj lots of bars resturants and cobbled streets to wale away your time. The hotel breakfast was fab freshly cooked omellete if you wanted it. Hotel standard but it was very clean and the location is tremendous directly looking onto the harbour.
me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed it and would definately stay here again.
"Perfect location with a lovely staff and delicious (and filling!) complimentary breakfast"
Paymogo, NYC, Jun 21, 2009
My original hotel plans in Rovinj fell through, so I ended up at the Adriatic's front desk around 9 p.m., exhausted, without a reservation. The woman behind the counter was amazing—she had no single rooms available, but since it was early in the week in an off-season, she gave me a double room for the price of a single. I ended up staying three nights.
The room itself was clean and it offered a lovely view of the Rovinj harbor. There is a complimentary breakfast in the mornings, and it's delicious. The waiter will ask if you want eggs, but between the excellent coffee, flaky croissants, pear compote, and delicious cheeses that are set out, you already have all you need.
If you can get a room on the first floor, do it. The stairs *will* wear you out. But hey, it's exercise.
I will definitely stay here again if in Rovinj.
"Most Enjoyable part of our 30 day trip"
Mmccahill, East Wareham, Massachusetts, Jun 19, 2009
We took the bus from Pula and dragged our suitcases from the Rovinj bus station to the hotel. When we turned the corner into the harbour and saw the hotel's location, I thought "perfect"-Small, right on the harbor, nice outdoor cafe. And it only got better. Great room with windows overlooking the harbor and a rear window that provided great cross ventilation. Front desk was superb-friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The cleaning staff greated us each morning and tried to help with our Croatian pronunciation and the breakfast was surprisingly good. We initially planned a 5 night stay, but added a night since we enjoyed the hotel (and the local food/wine) so much. We plan on returning next May.
"Tolle Lage und wunderbare Terasse und sehr empfehlenswert"
München, May 14, 2008
