On 8 March, Dee Dee Bridgewater, a tripple Grammy Award winner and one of the most important jazz musicians today will perform in Croatia for the first time. The concert will be held in Rovinj, in the former tobacco factory. At her concert entitled: To Billie with Love – A Celebration of Lady Day, Dee Dee will present her last album dedicated to the legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday.
Dee Dee Bridgewater is at the very top of the female jazz scene and is often referred to as an heiress of the great Ella Fitzgerald. This is a versatile musician equally convincingly singing theater roles, jazz standards, French chansons or covers of African folk music songs.
Her work has been multiply awarded by prestigious awards including 3 Grammies, a Tony, a Django d'Or and a Billie Holliday.
During her career, Dee Dee Bridgewater has cooperated with the greatest names in jazz music, including but not limited to Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Max Roach, Roland Kirk, Archie Shepp and Ray Charles.
Bridgewater is without a doubt the first lady of jazz today!
