With its stunning sunsets that will blow you away, Rovinj definitely defends the title of the most romantic towns on the Adriatic coast.

Best spots to watch the sunset in Rovinj

Did you know that Rovinj has over 130 sunny days per year, which makes it the sunniest spot on the Istrian peninsula?

This makes it without doubt the perfect destination for sunset chasers and all you Instagramers who love to post perfect sun drops below the horizon with orange and magenta backdrop.

We picked up for you best locations from where you can watch one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Mediterranean.

Mulini Beach

You will reach this beach if you head of to the Zlatni rt preserved Forest Park, only 15 minute walk from the town centre. During the day this is one of the most visited beaches but during the evening it transforms in a perfect venue for sunsets. If you visit this place from late spring until autumn, you can enjoy the sunset laying in comfortable sun loungers and sipping cocktails served from the bar at the very centre of the beach followed by an ambient lounge music selected by the resident DJ.

The Great Pier

This is one of the most visited spots in the town centre for everyone who wants a picture-perfect view of the Old Town followed by a sunset. Find yourself a perfect spot and enjoy the view!

Old town

After passing the Big Pier you will reach the mid-17th century street Sv. Križa lined with numerous bars and restaurants that will lead you to historical Rovinj beach where each rock has its own special microtoponym: Fuleîn, Scudièla, Scudeleîn and Baluòta. These are tall rocks (first three above the Arnolongo cut) from which the bravest did all kinds of crazy stunts jumping into the sea, partly for the thrill of it and partly to attract the attention of the fairer sex. Don’t forget to bring your swimwear if you want to take a refreshing dip from the rocks.

Viva Eufemia bar

This bar is located on the 5th floor of the most anticipated hotel on the Adriatic coast, Grand Park Hotel Rovinj. Here, the sunset over the Katarina island is so spectacularly offered that it deserves to be toasted with a glass of champagne, for example, from the bar with one of the largest selections of champagne in Croatia.

Amarin beach

If you are in Rovinj with kids and you need a place where they will be entertained while you wait for the sun to go down, beach beneath the Family Hotel Amarin could be the place for you. You can reach this place with a boat transfer from town centre or with a car. It's the perfect place to sit back and watch the sun’s glorious descent over The Old Town while your kids play on the opened playground.

Rovinj sunset cruise

In the evening, it is also possible to go on an organized boat tour that will take you from the seafront in the town center to the open sea. If you are lucky, you might even spot some dolphins which are frequent visitors of the Rovinj archipelago.
