The opening performance of the world-renowned cellist Stjepan Hauser of Two Cellos was followed by the highlight of the ceremonial opening of the complex – the concert of Andrea Bocelli on a spectacular sea stage in Lone Bay.

An unforgettable atmosphere was created with visual effects and fireworks, while Bocelli delighted guests with his hits ‘Con te partirò’, ‘Besame mucho’, ‘I can’t help falling in love’, and many others.

Numerous guests from Croatian society and the world of entertainment enjoyed this unique concert. Among them were actress Daisy Lewis (above far right), famous for her role in period drama Downton Abbey and British model Portia Freeman (below), a runway model for fashion shows and designers such as Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi, amongst others.

Top sporting event Adris 44Cup

As part of the grand opening celebrations of the hotel from 29 May to 2 June, the picturesque town of Rovinj returned in great style to the world map as organisers of prestigious sailing regattas.

The Adris 44Cup, a unique sporting, tourist and social event, brought together the world’s best known sailors, including winners of the Olympics and Americas Cup. During the four days of competition, the Grand Park Hotel Rovinj was the host for evening entertainment, including a welcome party and gala dinner.

Mr Chris Bake, President of the 44 Cup says:

“Rovinj was for all of us the regatta that we will remember all our lives. These four days in Croatia I would call the “sailing of the new generation”, because of all the events that surrounded this cup. The regata not only happened at sea, but the social aspect on land was sensational, and the events that Adris and Maistra delivered have been spectacular. After 13 years of sailing around the world, the regatta in Rovinj was, I feel, the best ever”

All these elements came together in perfect harmony to celebrate both the Grand Park Hotel’s arrival and the historical town of Rovinj as Croatia’s premier luxury travel destination.
