Stellar Boutique Modules: A New Lifestyle Hotel Opens in the Heart of Zagreb

A new hotel is set to open in the heart of Zagreb, redefining the concept of boutique hotels and offering a unique way to connect with the city’s vibrant urban culture. Set in the former Hotel Jadran, both the interior and exterior of the property have been boldly reimagined thanks to the creative synergy between the architects of Studio UP and multimedia artist Silvio Vujičić, who contributes signature artworks throughout the space. Highlights of the unique interior include 48 futuristically designed modules (guest rooms), alongside a stylish bar, a secluded garden, and an exclusive rooftop with stunning views of the city – ideal for unwinding, meeting up, or enjoying the moment.

Stellar Boutique Modules: A New Lifestyle Hotel Opens in the Heart of Zagreb

With its 48 contemporary rooms, Stellar Boutique Modules offers more than just accommodation – it delivers a fully personalised stay. The futuristic, light-filled exterior design extends into the interior, and is also reflected in the surreal atmosphere within each module. A tranquil escape from the city buzz, the hotel invites guests to gaze at the stars from its striking rooftop. The unique view of Zagreb Cathedral is certain to become one of the city’s most eye-catching and sought-after snapshots.

“The opening of Stellar Boutique Modules marks another important milestone in the strategic development of Maistra Hospitality Group and our growing portfolio in Zagreb. In recent years, we have invested over €140 million into the capital through projects that have transformed the city’s hospitality landscape – including standout properties such as the distinctive lifestyle hotel Zonar Zagreb and Marriott’s Sheraton Zagreb Hotel to the modern Hotel International. Stellar Boutique Modules, as part of the Maistra City Vibes brand, builds on that vision – to create authentic, high-quality and innovative experiences tailored to the needs of modern travellers, while elevating Zagreb’s tourism scene. We continue to invest in destinations where we see long-term potential – and Zagreb is certainly one of them,” said Tomislav Popović, Chairman of the Management Board at Maistra.

Beyond the spectacular view, the rooftop will serve as an ideal venue for private events and special occasions. Guests at Stellar Boutique Modules will also enjoy a diverse culinary experience through an innovative all-day eatery concept designed to suit even the busiest of city explorers. Conveniently located between Zagreb’s Upper and Lower Town, just minutes from the main square, the hotel makes an ideal starting point for exploring the city’s landmarks.

“Stellar Boutique Modules offers an experience that borders on weightlessness in each room. The accommodation modules are entirely monochrome, formed from a single material, giving guests the sensation of literally floating in white. As a guest, you have a zoomed-out connection to Zagreb’s historic centre – with views of the Cathedral and Šalata – and a zoomed-in intimacy with ceiling ‘frescoes’ designed by artist and our long-time collaborator, Silvio Vujičić. These frescoes enhance the sensation of lightness and suspension, depicting human bodies freed from the pull of gravity. The branding and visual identity were designed by our architectural team in collaboration with Damir Gamulin and Nenad Vukušić,” said Toma Pleić of Studio UP.

Maistra City Vibes hotels are designed for the ultimate city break in Zagreb, uniquely merging Central European business-mindedness with Mediterranean leisure. With the opening of Stellar Boutique Modules, guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the urban heart of the city, surrounded by a one-of-a-kind interior enhanced by the artworks of Silvio Vujičić.

With over 50 years of excellence, Maistra Hospitality Group continues to develop high-quality tourism by focusing on guest expectations and evolving trends.
