You will immediately be transported back in time with some of the oldest dishes of traditional fishermen’s cuisine served only at Kantinon and the authentic atmosphere loved by locals and tourists alike. Seafood ragout, Istrian žgvacet (stew) or boškarin ox cheeks slow-cooked for 12 hours are made with fresh, locally grown and foraged ingredients. A large barrel still stands in the restaurant as a reminder that this place was once a wine cellar, after which Kantinon got its name. Grab a table on the terrace and enjoy the view of the church of St Euphemia and the fishing port.

Discover the soul of Rovinj and meet the locals who often come to Kantinon for original and traditional dishes served only here. Cold cuts such as prosciutto, pancetta, Istrian sausages and cheese are served on a wooden board with the finest Istrian olive oil and olives. Alternatively, opt for bonito tartare, Rovinj-style white fish carpaccio with orange, local honey, mint and thyme, or piatto crudo.

Start the day with à la carte breakfast served from 7 o’clock in the intimate atmosphere of the French brasserie-style open-kitchen restaurant on the hotel’s ground floor. The Brasserie Adriatic menu changes during the day – after breakfast, served until noon, it offers a light lunch with a view of Rovinj’s busy streets. Both the lunch and dinner menus offer meat and fish dishes showcasing local flavours such as black ravioli stuffed with curd and spinach and pljukanci pasta with truffles. When you are surrounded by works of art, time seems to slow, especially if you also happen to be sipping a glass of wine.
